Tessenie Mowatt
Hey there!
Welcome to Psychotherapy with Tessenie.
It’s not true. You don’t have to face the hard stuff alone. Reaching out for therapy takes so much courage, especially in a world shaped by systems that tell you to “push through” or “things could be worse.”
I am a Black, queer, fat, Jamaican immigrant woman, and my intersecting identities are central to how I practice.
As a liberation-oriented therapist, I offer culturally responsive, systems-aware, and neurodivergent-affirming therapy. This means I hold space for how your identity, culture, and lived experiences shape your world, and I do not see your struggles as something to fix, but something to understand.
I provide a relational, trauma-informed space where your full humanity is welcome. Your pain, joy, anger, rage, complexity, and everything in between. I support individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, gender and sexual identity exploration, and the impacts of systemic oppression.
Together, we will co-create a space for decolonial healing. One that honours your lived experience, cultural roots, and the contexts that have shaped you. In this work, we gently explore the parts of you that protect and persevere, while making room for the parts that long for joy, safety, and connection.
Feel free to book a FREE 15-minute consultation to explore whether we are the right fit.
